Hemp bread made with stone-ground semi-wholemeal wheat flour and 100% Italian organic hemp flour has a particularly strong flavor with a slightly bitter aftertaste resulting from the high percentage of hemp.
Hemp, which contains all 8 essential amino acids, omega-3 and omega-6, is rich in protein and is recognized as a very nutritious food. The leavening of this bread lasts 48 hours at a controlled temperature followed by 8 hours of natural leavening. The strong flavor of this type of bread is ideal for accompanying equally strong dishes such as seasoned cured meats, grilled meats and spicy dishes.
